The Weekly Roundup – First for the New Year!

Hey guys! Sorry I missed the last Yearly Roundup food edition. But we’re back on for the new year with another edition of the Weekly Roundup.  First Weekly Roundup of the new year. You know how I do, let’s get right into it.

In Fashion

I’m especially into oxford shirts this season. It’s a classic. Simple, clean. This season J. Crew found a way to glam up the oxford shirt without losing it’s classic appeal. Leave it up to Jenna Lyons to figure that one out. A simple sequin stripe takes this classic staple from classic to glam instantly. Available in two colors and on sale!

In Beauty

Not much has changed since last year for me. I’m still on my beauty oil fix and this time I was able to get a deluxe sample of bosica‘s Tsubaki Cleansing Oil Gel. Last year I did a quick review of the Josie Maran cleansing oil. I had mixed feelings about it, but wasn’t wasn’t ready to give up on the beauty cleansing oil trend. While the Josie Maran cleansing oil did keep my face rather hydrated during the winter months, it also was hard to work with due to the thickness of the formula. The formula of bosica‘s Tsubaki Cleansing Oil Gel is quite different. The gel formula is easier to apply and leaves your face feeling cleaner and hydrated.

Formulated with tsubaki oil (camellia oil), wakame (Japanese sea kelp), and rice bran oil this cleanser hydrates, smooths, and protects for the appearance of firm, youthful skin. Formulated for all skin types, allatoin, an anti-bacterial plant derivative, deeply cleanses and maintains moisture levels. – From Sephora

If you are a beauty insider at Sephora, a deluxe sample is available for you to try.

In Music

Okay people, I think I’ve found the album that might be my soundtrack for the year. I was just browsing through iTunes and came across  Marc Ronson’s latest album Uptown Special. Aside from the fact that I love the album title for obvious reasons, Mark Ronson has gathered some of the most popular artists to create this new age album that offers funk and some great instrumentals. My favorite track is his collaboration with Bruno Mars Uptown Funk. It’s a little Prince, and seriously who doesn’t love Prince. See the video below.

What to Watch

To kick off the new year one of my favorite shows returned to the small screen. Oh c’mon, you know what show I’m talking about – House of Lies. Last season left us with Marty Kaan going to jail because of Jeanie’s unintended betrayal and Kaan & Associates left with no work. It’s a sinking ship, or so it seemed. But leave it to the Kaan pod to get right back up when knocked down.

Tasty

Lately, I’ve been into really quick meals. I was just browsing the Food Network website and came across this quick and easy recipe by the Neely’s. It looks so good and is really simple to make. I think this might be dinner tonight. Looks good to you too? Click here to be taken right to the recipe.
