Dressed to the Nines: Nine (but really eight) Items I Purchased During the Black Friday Sales

Faux Leather Shearling Jacket

Say what you want but you know you shopped the Black Friday sales. This year I found some really great additions to further elevate my wardrobe. From holiday dressing to luxe fabrics to winter accessories here’s what I’ll be wearing. Here are the nine items I bought during the Black Friday sales.

The Tuxedo Jacket

The quintessential holiday piece. In luxe velvet, this piece is perfectly crafted at the intersection of elegance meets edgy with its expert tailoring and cropped length.

Leather Moto

Another staple but in soft nappa leather. The officer style buttons makes this style classic while the gold hardware and subtle moto stitching give it a hardcore flair.

Cable Knit Vest

School is still in session. This style is now basically a closet staple. For the cooler months this wool-cashmere blend adds warmth over a solid oxford shirt with the side buttons and high-low silhouette and gives it a relaxed yet put together look—a modern twist on the classic collegiate uniform.

Mixed Media Pullover Top

File this under cozy cool. The cable knit is almost synonymous with cooler weather. The oversized fit paired with the striped shirting panels on the sleeve speak to my prep school soul. Did someone say wear to work?

Pinstripe Wide Leg Trousers

I’ve been in love with the pleated trouser trend for a while. However when it comes to design, few brands are getting it right. Most of the time the pleats end up adding bulk to your midsection which is not flattering at all. Finally, I stumbled across this pair from Ganni and they fit perfectly. The high waist and flat pleats give it a streamlined silhouette and the wide trouser leg can be dressed up or down with bright heels or flat boots.

Shearling Jacket

I’m starting to feel like this list has a lot of outerwear but the truth is winter is right around the corner. I happened to be watching one of KarenBritChic’s style videos and I instantly fell in love with this faux shearling jacket from Urban Revivo. It’s an almost exact dupe of the Calvert Shearling Flying Jacket from AllSaints but at a tiny fraction of the cost. This might be my favorite purchase for the winter season to date.

Elevated Oxfords

When I stumbled upon these shoes by Angela Scott it inspired me to go into the office. I know—who am I? No need to sacrifice style for comfort with these elevated oxfords. File this under favorite work shoes. The cutout details with patent accents and patent toe are the perfect combination of understated cool.

Western Boots

I guess I’m in my Yellowstone era (IYKYK) because these western inspired boots from Schutz called my inner cowgirl. Rugged enough for the open plains and classic enough for a city trek.

That’s Just Peaky

The newsboy hat is probably the easiest accessory to add to your wardrobe. This herringbone version is a great addition works well with your favorite wool coats.

Style tip: always go up a size when buying this style. You’ll achieve that coveted slouch effect with no hat-head.
