It’s that time of year again! The Sephora Beauty Insider Event starts this Friday October 28th (for Rouge members) and lasts through November 7th. I don’t know about you but I’ve been prepping my Sephora basket since the beginning of October. I can’t wait to stock up my favorites, grab some holiday gift sets and try new products. This year I am showing self control and limiting myself to ten products. It’s a good mix of staples and newness and gifts (mainly for me) and you might want to add these to your cart. Shop any of the products I mention below by clicking on the product name.
Skincare
Of course I was going to start with my favorite category—skincare. This was my struggle category. I was determined to have a healthy mix of products so I was able to limit it to only four. Granted, two of these are gift sets so it made me feel a little better.
Glow RecipeWatermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner
When it comes to toners, the Glow RecipeWatermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner is the standard for me. It does all the doings that you expect from your toner. It balances the skin while gently exfoliating and providing hydration. The texture of this toner reminds me of my beloved (and sadly discontinued) Shiseido White Lucent Skin Softener but with added ingredients that transformed my skin. I have been loyal to this toner since it launched and highly recommend it for all skin types.
Hyper Skin Gentle Brightening Gel Cleanser with Mandelic Acid
My cleanser of choice is always a gel cleanser. It cleanses without stripping and is often packed with powerhouse ingredients that promote smoother, brighter skin. I love the gentle foaming lather and over time I have noticed that it helped with my hyperpigmentation. Bonus points if use this in conjunction with their Hyper Even Brightening Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum.
iNNBEAUTY PROJECT The Healthy Skin Edit Bestsellers Kit
If you have been following me here or on Instagram, you already know how much I love InnBeauty Project. They are a clean and very effective skincare brand that addresses skincare concerns regardless of your age. You name it, they have a product for it. This is the first time (I think) that they are launching a holiday set at Sephora and it’s so good. I have used everyone of these products at some point over the past year in my skincare routine and they are really good.
The set includes a full size Slushy (one of my favorite daytime serums that can also double as a moisturizer for my oily skin friends) and generous mini sizes of their cleanser, vitamin c serum and moisturizer. This is the perfect gift to give someone just getting into skincare or if you want to try the brand without breaking the bank. The set is just $36 and with the VIB discount of up to 20% (if you are rouge) it’s definitely worth it.
Kiehl’s Since 1851 Brightening Bundle with Vitamin C
This is a set that has been on my radar for almost a year. What drew me to this set was the Ferulic Brew Rejuvenating Facial Essence. When it launched it went viral and as an essence lover I wanted to try it. At the time I had so many essences and vitamin c products in my collection that I wanted to go through at least half of them before trying that one. I love that this comes in a set that includes a full sized Clearly Corrective Dark-Spot Corrector, a product I have tried and loved. The set also comes with a deluxe sample size eye cream to round out the brightening trio. The value of this set is over $90 and retails for $62 before your discount is applied. I cannot wait to try the essence and give you guys my feedback.
Body Care
Over the past two years I’ve really been into body care. It might be because I’m spending more time at home but luxurious and effective body care has been a necessity for me and these three relatively new products have caught my eye. Two of them I am currently using and love them enough to add to my cart again. The third is a targeted treatment that in my head will keep me a hottie for the foreseeable future.
JLo Beauty Firm + Flaunt Targeted Booty Balm
I might as well start with the new product that I am most excited to try. Call me vain, but one thing about me is that I am always down to try anything that will keep my peach looking firm and plump so when Mrs. Affleck said that she had a product for that I said, “Give it to me!” As I mentioned earlier in the post, the VIB event is the perfect time to try new products with a discount. I’ll be reporting back to let you know if this is a product I would repurchase.
Topicals High Roller Ingrown Hair Tonic with AHA and BHA
Listen if you shave your intimate areas or your underarms, you need this in your self-care arsenal. Razor bumps and ingrown hairs be gone. This magical roll-on serum is formulated with salicylic and glycolic acids to combat bacteria and buildup while gently exfoliating for even skin texture. I seriously can’t be without it.
Topicals Slather Exfoliating Body Serum with Retinol and AHAs
As a beauty enthusiast, I have tried my fair share of body serums. I’ve only been using this for a little over two weeks and I am already in love. The lightweight texture of this serum absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and not tacky to the touch. What initially drew me to this product is that it hydrates, firms and exfoliates. Formulated with urea for hydration, encapsulated retinol to tone, glycolic and lactic acids to gently exfoliate and reveal smoother skin. Bonus points if you follow up with Like Butter Body Hydrating and Soothing Mist for extra hydration.
Makeup
I’m in a phase of my beauty journey where I am wearing less makeup than I used to and that’s saying something because I previously did not wear that much makeup before. I’ve been gravitating to makeup-skincare hybrid products but there are a few true makeup items that are staples that I have to pick up during this event.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder
I know this is going to sound like a bold statement, but facts are facts and the jury agrees. The Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder has changed the game when it comes to makeup primers. It works to visibly reduce the look of pores and control shine. It really works on all skin types and will elevate your makeup whether it’s full glam or minimalist. What makes this product one of a kind is the formulation using these three ingredients for a flawless finish:
- Upsalite: Supports and absorbs excess sebum and sweat while maintaining skin‘s hydration.
- Olive-Derived Squalane: Known to support oil production and diminish visible signs of aging.
- Hyaluronic Acid: Promotes skin‘s hydration.
While I enjoy the universal shade which is translucent, this product comes in an additional 10 flexible shades that can be used all over the face, as a highlight, bronzer or contour. This is truly a revolutionary product and I have yet to come across someone who has tried this that doesn’t feel the same way.
Charlotte Tilbury Mini Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray Duo Set
I swear by this setting spray. If you want your makeup to last (and who doesn’t) then you have to get your hands on this setting spray. Sure it’s not new but this set is only available during the holidays and it always sells out. It’s such a great value. Normally each mini will cost you $21, but with this set you get two minis for just $29 and that’s before your beauty insider discount is applied. I always get a few of these so that I’m pretty much set until the next beauty insider event and it’s totally worth it. Unlike most longwear setting sprays this one does not contain alcohol so it won’t dry out your skin or leave your makeup looking and feeling so matte that your skin starts producing oil. If you have combo or oily skin you’re going to love this.
SEPHORA COLLECTION Wishing You Face Brush Set
I have to say Sephora Collection brushes are among my favorite brushes. Whether it is from the PRO collection or the holiday collections, they are solid brushes that stand the test of time. I am always adding to my face brushes and this set is perfect. It comes with all of the brushes that you need. There is a foundation brush, a powder brush, a blush brush, a buffing brush, and a flat concealer brush. They are larger than mini brushes yet sleek enough to fit into your makeup bag without taking up a lot of space. The price point is $35 which breaks down to $7/brush and regardless of your tier you will get 30% of all Sephora Collection items. All in all a smart buy.
So there you have it—the ten products that I will be adding to my cart during the Sephora Beauty Insider event. Remember the event starts this Friday for Rouge members. I’ve listed the dates for the other tiers below. What will you pick up or add to your cart?
