Whenever I shop I am always looking for pieces that are transitional. One of the best ways to do that is buying staple pieces that can be worn across multiple seasons thus ensuring that you get your cost per wear. Here are a few pieces I have fallen in love with these pieces that I will be wearing from now through the fall.
One of the staple pieces that I will be wearing all fall is this Nikolai Oversized Plaid Jacket from Veronica Beard. From the oversized sleeves to the plaid pattern this is a statement piece that can elevate any outfit. Classic enough to wear to the office while still being chic enough to wear to dinner.
If there is one clothing item that I think can be worn all year round and is universally flattering it is bodysuits. Bodysuits have come a long way. Long gone are the days when there were only single layer bodysuits that are almost see through and not in a flattering way. It would be that or they would stretch out after only a few wears. Now, bodysuits are made with better grades of cotton/polyester/spandex / lycra mixes and often double as shapewear.
When it comes to denim, one of the most versatile denim washes that can you can add to your wardrobe is a bone/winter white jean. I never knew how much I needed this particular wash until I purchased this pair from Good American. I straight leg style is probably the most versatile because they have a longer inseam to lengthen the leg and can be worn over tall boots, booties, sneakers or heels. The off-white wash makes it easy to wear regardless of the season and makes it easier to dress up or dress down.
Listen, I’ve been working remotely for over two years now so I am definitely team comfy. I don’t know about everyone else but if I’m wearing heels they HAVE to be comfy because otherwise I’m just not doing it. This year Sam Edelman had some really great sandal options that can be worn from spring through early fall. The quilted padded footbed and leather covered elasticized straps and square footbed make these sandals a dream to walk in and the heel is flared giving you added support. I love this style so much that I have it in two colors. Very reasonably priced and supple genuine leather. This style is my go to whether it’s brunch with the girls, an event or a fancy dinner date.
An Everyday Bag You Can Actually Wear Everyday
When it comes to bags I think most people would agree that the Coach Pillow Tabby was one of this years influencer favorites. When I first saw the bag, I almost bought it immediately but stopped myself because I didn’t want to get another black bag. That being said, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I can’t even remember how I stumbled upon it, but when I saw this ombre one I knew I had to pull the trigger. At first glance one would think that this is a spring/summer bag however, when you look at the gradient you can see how it would pair beautifully with deeper hues of blue, yellow or green and can add an interesting wash of color to your more cooler toned palettes (think winter). The blue in the bag really brought out the subtle blue in the jacket making the look very cohesive.
