The Best Jeans for Curvy Shapes

Yes, it’s jean season again. Jean purchases can be tricky when you have a curvy shape and even more confusing when you’re purchasing online. Most of the time the models are stick thin and don’t represent what you look like. I used to always have that problem, even when I was much smaller (I’m currently a size 12, but have fluctuated anywhere between sizes 6-12 for a majority of my adult life). Here are the best jeans for curvy shapes tried and tested by me.

Good American

Of all the brands that I now trust with my jean purchases, Good American is newest to my lineup, but I have to say that they are my favorite of all the brands that I will be sharing with you. They are premium jeans, are size inclusive and have AMAZING sales all the time! Here are my favorite silhouettes from their offering.

Good Waist Extreme Deep V

This style comfortably cinches your waist, shapes your booty, rounding it out and giving it a lift.

Good Waist Shadow Pocket

Just like the Extreme Deep V this shapes your waist and booty while also gives the illusion of a larger pocket for a more flattering fit.

Good Legs Under Fray Waistband

The silhouette of this style gives the illusion of longer legs and the frayed waistband and hem give it just the right amount of edge for casual and dressier looks.

Paige Premium Denim

I have been a long time stan of this brand. I first starting wearing them in 2008 when I attended blogger conferences (yes, that used to be a thing). Granted I was smaller than I am now, but just as curvy. These were the premium jeans that I actually used to drop serious cash for. They would last forever and when I couldn’t fit them anymore they found a home and most of them are still thriving. The one silhouette that I purchase over and over again are the slim flare jeans. I recently go these in a medium gray wash and I cannot wait to wear them (even if it’s just to the living room because honestly, that’s where I live now lol.

High Rise Laurel Canyon

This has a baby flare leg that is modern and looks great with heels, booties and can be worn over tall boots. Although they are still stretchy, they keep their shape and are high-rise. This style does lend itself for a more polished look which makes them great for workwear (if you’re like me and work in a creative or casual workplace). Although they are quite pricey, I can assure you they are worth the investment.

FLAUNT DENIM Ankle Exposed Button

The newest collection to the Paige brand is FLAUNT. Just like their previous favorite styles like Horton and Cindy, these jeans are designed with a waist to hip ratio that flatters curvier body types. The waistband has no gaps leaving you with a fit that is both sexy and comfortable.

Lucky Brand Jeans

The OG of curvy denim. Back in college (many moons ago), you couldn’t tell me that the Easy Rider Jeans weren’t made just for me. They fit perfectly and the boot cut version were what denim dreams were made of. Sadly, they do not carry that style for women anymore but they have other styles that are just as flattering. Here are my top three picks for curvy frames.

High Rise Bianca Boot

A vintage jean with expose buttons that looks best with suede booties, a t-shirt and a leather jacket. It’s the ultimate California meets Soho NYC jean.

Uni-Fit High Rise Jeans

So you bought your favorite pair of jeans and you either lost or gained a few pounds. No worries, the Unit-Fit High Rise jean solves that problem. It literally stretches and conforms to the shape of your body for up to 4 sizes. It’s genius if you ask me and right now this distressed pair is on sale for $40.
