If niacinamide was the highlight ingredient for the summer, then vitamin C will be the ingredient for the rest of the year. You can find vitamin C be touted in almost every skincare category. Vitamin C is used to address so many skin concerns from texture to dark spots to overall skin radiance. With formulations that include other favorite ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide you can address all your skin concerns by adding or replacing one product in your current regimen. Here are five new vitamin C products that will address most common skin concerns.
Hyper Skin Vitamin C Brightening Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum
If you suffer from post acne dark spots then I can confidently recommend this serum for you. Launched last year and now available at Sephora, not only does this serum contain vitamin C, but it is also formulated to hydrate with hyaluronic acid, soothe with aloe, while also exfoliating with kojic acid for an even and smooth complexion. See my thoughts on this serum here.
Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum
Glow Recipe has really never let me down. Their last three launches have been solid, and I am expecting no less from this targeted serum. It is formulated with tranexamic acid which is clinically proven to reduce the look of dark spots and redness over time. It also contains antioxidant protection from their newest fruit ingredient—guava. The lightweight texture absorbs quickly into the skin. Come back to this space for a full review a few weeks from now when I see just how well it worked on my maskne dark spots.
Sweet Chef Skincare Ginger + Vitamin C Oil-Free Gel Cream Moisturizer
The sister brand to Glow Recipe just launched an oil free gel cream moisturizer that is part of the Ginger + Vitamin C line. This one is for my combination and oily skin people. I have been using this for a little over a week now and I absolutely love it. It’s formulated with niacinamide to protect your skin barrier, turmeric to brighten and hyaluronic acid to hydrate. As a daytime moisturizer this wears well under SPF and makeup and leaves my combination skin with a radiant finish.
InnBeauty Project Green Machine Vitamin C + Green Superfoods Jelly Serum
Hybrid skincare products are being produced more than ever before. This one from InnBeauty Project is not only packed with Vitamin C but also contains azelaic acid to help with both hyperpigmentation and overall skin texture. The oil blend in this formula is rich in fatty acids to moisturize and nourish skin without clogging pores. For those with oily or combo oily skin, this can serve as a treatment and moisture step in one.
Olay Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Face Moisturizer
If you prefer a rich moisturizer, then the Olay Vitamin C + Peptide moisturizer is a great option. Personally, because of the rich texture and my combo-oily skin I would use this as a nighttime moisturizer and layer with an oil. Formulated with peptides this promises to give you smoother and firmer skin over time. I’m very into the Regenerist line from Olay and will be adding this to my wishlist for the season.
