My Current Skincare Favorites

It’s been so long since I’ve done one of these posts. Doing monthly favorites seemed a little bit forced so I just stopped doing them. I wanted to give myself enough time to use products and develop a true opinion on them after using them consistently for at least six weeks. Surprisingly (or not surprisingly) these happen to be all skincare or skincare/hybrid products that I’ve been enjoying and have seen significant results. This doesn’t mean that this will not change since I’m always trying new releases and do my best to give you my honest opinion. Here are my current skincare favorites.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum

I honestly never thought I would love this so much. As I mentioned in a previous post this serum hydrates the skin with the dual phase oil/serum formula without leaving my combination oily skin feeling greasy. It layers well with my treatment serums and moisturizers. You also get a lot of product as compared to other hydrating serums so at $59 it’s definitely worth it.

Glossier Cleanser Concentrate

I’ve always been a little scared of clarifying/purifying cleansers because I these kind of cleansers in the past tend to leave my skin feeling a little stripped. This one is completely different. My guess is that because this cleanser is packed with gentle exfoliants (lactic and malic acid) and niacinamide—our fave, and substitutes harsh sulfates for amino acid surfactants (a plant derived sulfate alternative) I’m still able to get that nice lather that leaves my skin visibly smoother and soft to the touch. Glossier has pretty much been off the beauty radar for a while but this was a great product to come back with.

Tula Antioxidant Water

You guys already know that I love a face mist. I tend to use them as mid-day pick me ups to revive my skin or refresh my makeup rather than as toner mists. This one from Tula is what dreams are made of. The mist is super fine and slightly chilled which is refreshing and instantly wakes up my skin leaving it looking and feeling hydrated throughout the day. I’ve used this when out and about in the NYC heat to cool my skin and it’s definitely on my desk when I’m working.

INNBeauty Glaze Lip Oil

I have tried my fair share of lip oils and this is something new. This lip oil is so hydrating and so ultra glossy without being goopy and it taste and smells like childhood candy dreams. It has a large doe foot that evenly spreads product for your juiciest lip ever. After using the original flavor I had to get two more. My current favorite is the shade Glazed Donut which has just the right amount of shimmer without looking to frosty. Day or night this is will be your favorite lip oil—trust me.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm

This should come as no surprise. If I was trapped on a desert island and could only bring one lip product, this would definitely be the one. I literally have tubes in all of my favorite bags, on my nightstand, on my desk—for me this is a must-have. With the repackaged tube the applicator fits perfectly on the lips for even application. I use this all the time and have noticed that my lips are smoother and always feel nourished.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Hyaluronic Clay Pore-Tight Facial

I used to use clay masks as part of my self-care routine and when I thought that they were an absolute must for my then oily skin. They worked for a time and while they got rid of the oil, it was overly drying which left my skin dehydrated and caused it to produce more oil. Eventually I decided that clay masks were not for me. Just a few months ago, Glow Recipe launched this clay mask and I was intrigued. They found a way to infuse hylaluronic acid (our favorite skin hydrator) into kaolin clay so that once you rinse it off your face feels soft and is visibly evens your skin tone. I love that this does not dry down to that dreaded crackly finish and is formulated with gentle BHA and PHA exfoliants to unclog pores leaving smoother skin. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Nichole Avonie Body Elixir & Face Elixir

I’ve tried a lot of oils in my time as a blogger and while working at some of the largest beauty companies and none of the oils whether it be for face or body have come close to these. I expected nothing less from one of the founders of Face Flawless Skin. Both of these oils hydrate and nourish the skin in a way that is truly game-changing. I use these oils primarily at night to lock in my skincare and body products and my skin has felt so smooth and was glowing the next day. I cannot say enough about these products and I will definitely be repurchasing both of these soon.

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum

Over the past few years I have had a love/hate relationship with retinol. No matter which retinol I used, I would always suffer from irritated skin or flaky skin. I had almost given up on retinol until I received this one in a Trendmood Box earlier this year. I only use this at night and only twice a week. This is a really effective product. Although I don’t have many fine lines, the few that I did have seem to have almost disappeared completely and my skin texture has improved. I love that there has been improvement in retinol formulas so that those of us that were once adverse to including it as part of our skincare routine now have an option.
