When it comes down to it, how often do you seriously think about lip care? If you’re reading this, you most likely have tried a few but with so many balms, scrubs, oils, treatments, masks plumpers, etc. now on the market you just want to know which products work. Luckily for you, I’ve tried a bunch of lip products from all of the different categories. Some of these should come as no surprise as I’ve talked about these products in the past (click here and here). Here are 10 lip care products to check out now.
The first step to a smooth, hydrated pout is exfoliation. This leaves your lips smooth and ready for your lip products. A sugar based lip scrub is my favorite and they’re available in both pot and stick form.
Even though lip balms have been around forever they have definitely evolved since the days of Chapstick. These lip balms are packed with skin nourishing ingredients like shea butter that lock in moisture while nourishing the skin and is easy to reapply throughout the day.
Oils & Plumpers
This is my favorite category in lip care. Lip oils have been around but they’ve really gained traction over the past year. It’s the gloss/balm hybrid that dreams are made of. Oils give shine without the traditional sticky feeling of a high-shine gloss while also hydrating the lips with hyaluronic acid. Plumpers have also come a long way. It’s no longer just about making your lips look bigger but also look smoother with plumping ingredients like collagen to temporarily fill in lines for a more youthful look.
Treatments & Masks
I like to think of this category as night cream but for your lips. These products usually have a thicker consistency that when left on overnight nourish, firm and gently exfoliate lips to reveal a soft pout in the morning.
