This is not up for debate…your brows frame your face. Over the years we’ve went from razor-thin brows to super-defined brows and some of us are embracing the groomed fluffy, feathered brow. I am one of those people and getting this look is easier than one might think. Here’s what you will need too get your best fluffy, feathered brows in three relatively easy steps.
Step 1: Style
Colourpop Brow Styling Wax – this is probably the best affordable brow styling wax on the market. It comes in two shades (clear and tinted) and although the clear is marketed for those with lighter hair, I still like the clear version. With this I would recommend activating the wax with a setting spray and applying with an angled spoolie. This wax holds your brow hairs in place without looking “crunchy”and makes it easier to see where you will need to fill them in. I first started talking about this a couple of months ago here and I haven’t been able to put it down since.
NYX Brow Glue Brow Instant Brow Styler – This is another great affordable option. This is kind of like using a glue stick on your brows but without the white residue. What makes this different than the Colourpop styling wax is that this doesn’t dry down. It has a soft hold that is natural and is best paired with softer pencil to fill in sparse areas.
Step 2: Define & Fill
Huda #BombBrows Brow Pencil – This is a game changer. If you like the microbladed look without the price tag, then you are going to love this brow pencil. This is literally the thinest pencil on the market. While other pencils claim to draw hair-like strokes, this one really does. The only downside is that because it is so thin, the pencil can break easily. To avoid that, you will need to use light pressure and only turn up the pencil a little bit so that the point is just visible before filling in your brows.
Uoma Beauty Brow Fro Baby Hair Pencil – If I’m being honest, this pencil doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. I find this to be a better pencil than Benefit’s Precisely My Brow (although it is a very good pencil and had been my favorite for years). It is somewhat waxy but in a good way. It draws thin, almost blurred strokes giving you a natural looking brow but is also good at defining your arch and tail.
Step 3: Set
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel – For me, this is the GOAT when it comes to brow gels. I find that clear brow gels are just easier to work with but some brow gels can leave a gray cast when applied over a brow pencil. This one doesn’t. It just sets them so that all of your hairs are slick and feathered at the same time.
I know brows can sometimes be a daunting task but these products help to make it easier so that even a novice can get look put together in minutes. So, like…you’re welcome.
