While most of us have been inside working, beauty brands have been flourishing—especially indie brands. Here are four indie brands you’ll want to keep an eye on.
Sweet Chef
The little sister brand to cult favorite Glow Recipe, has crafted a line using vegetables as their highlighted ingredients at an affordable price point. After their first launch which included three serums and 3 corresponding sheet masks, the expanded their line to include a moisturizer, eye cream, gentle cleanser, face oil, firming mask, facial mist, lip sleeping mask. The Ginger + Vitamin C line is the standout category. The hero ingredients brighten, tone, and correct while leaving your skin hydrated. The recently released Bright Spot Tonic is among my favorite toners. It has a thicker consistency, similar to the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and ready for the rest of you routine. See review on here.
Newest addition to the Ginger + Vitamin C line is the Ginger + Vitamin C Oil-free Moisturizer. This lightweight moisturizer claims to boost, hydrate, brighten, and strengthen your skin while also smoothing. That’s a lot to claim, but I’ve been so impressed with this particular line from the brand that I’m willing to give it a shot.

InnBeauty Project
If Gen-Z was a skincare brand, then this would be it. First we have the packaging. It’s eye-catching with the bright neon colors and disruptive design. I scoured their site and while I am not part of their target demographic, their are a few products that I am going to try. First is the Green Machine Oily Jelly Serum which sounds like an absolute dream. Oil-in-serum formulations have been making their way into my skincare routine. This serum features azelaic acid, vitamin c, and plant-based stem cells combined with omega fatty acids and antioxidant-rich oils to balance and nourish your skin.
Next, is the Slushy Serum Moisturizer Crush—a lightweight serum-moisturizer hybrid formulated with hyaluronic acid and backuchiol—a proven retinol alternative to hydrate, smooth, firm and calm skin (this is my wildest dream to have all of this in one product).

Sunday II Sunday
Admit it—we live in a world obsessed with edges. While we all love switching up our hairstyles whether it’s natural, protective or processed, we will do our very best to protect our edges. That’s where this serum comes in. I kept hearing about it over and over and decided to give it a try.I’m hoping the Edge Flourish Daily Nourishing Serum will help nourish and strengthen my edges. I just started using this so I’ll definitely have to give an update in a later post.

Bread Beauty Supply
Yes, another hair brand and I’m here for it. My latest obsession has been oils. Whether it be for the hair, face or body— I’m into it. I think a hair oil is essential to caring for natural hair so this is perfect for me since I wear protective styles. The Hair Oil Everyday Gloss can be used as a pre-poo, leave-in or in-between wash product that will give your hair slip and shine—the trifecta. For the body, the 100% Macadamia Concentrate is a dual purpose oil that can be used to nourish both the hair and body. I can’t wait to use both of these (once I’m through with my current oils).
