After nearly two decades of working in the beauty industry, it’s safe to say that I have seen and tried a lot of beauty brands. Most of them are really have the same message it is usually about correction and perfection rather than knowledge and progression. Over the past four to five years, there has been a concerted effort to change the way we talked about skin. New and established brands are changing the way that we talk about skincare and how we should embrace all skin types and skin tones. One brand that has caught my eye is INNBEAUTY Project. Not only do they incorporate the aforementioned values, they have also factored practicality—whereby giving consumers a way to exercise self-care as part of your daily routine.
What I found most intriguing about the brand were the formulations of each product. I decided to give a few of them a try and try them as part of my skincare routine for a week before giving my first impression. Here are the products that I chose.
Green Machine Oil Jelly Serum
The inclusion of oil in serum is a skincare trend that has been catching on over the past year this formulation is really unique. The serum penetrates the skin with vitamin C and azelaic acid while the quinoa and hemp oil nourish the skin without the greasy feel making it easy to layer your moisturizer without your skin feeling suffocated.
Slushy Serum Moisturizer
I was probably most excited to try thetas moisturizer hybrid—are we noticing a pattern here. This serum moisturizer is the one I was most excited to try because I wanted to find a retinol alternative that I could use daily without having my skin go through a purge. It also has two other powerhouse ingredients that are highly effective in hydrating and brightening skin—yuzu for brightening and hyaluronic acid for hydration. If you have combo to oily skin like myself I think that this is the summer moisturizer that we have been looking for as it provides what most of us look for in a lightweight moisturizer while also having the benefits of bakuchiol to even out skin texture and refine pores. Bakuchiol is great for acne prone skin so with daily use this could reduce inflammation. Sounds like a win for almost everyone.
Power Up Face Mist
This 3-in-1 product is a facial mist, toner, and setting spray. It is a dual phase mist that doesn’t leave your face looking like an oil slick but rather hydrated and refreshed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this produced a fine mist so as a makeup setting spray, this should prove to be effective to give life back to the skin with compromising the integrity of your matte foundation formulas. I can also see this being worn as a finisher over top skin tints that we have been loving this season for that extra added glow.
Glaze Lip Oil
I’ve had mixed feelings when it comes to lip oils mainly because they seem to slide off as quickly as the glide on. The Glaze Lip Oil is somewhat different. It glides on effortlessly giving you that juicy shine I love and last almost as long as a gloss leaving your lips feeling soft even as it wears off. I really like the consistency. While it does have that amazing slip, it seems to grab (in a good way) your lips but is not goopy. On the lips it’s giving me the look of a melted cherry jolly rancher with a flavor and scent to match, bringing back all of my teenage memories.
Now you know I couldn’t leave without talking about the packaging. If this doesn’t scream Gen-Z/TikTok, then I don’t know what does. The bright colors are joy to look at when I open my medicine cabinet or when I look at my bedside table. I have high hopes for these products and this brand. INNBeauty Project can be found on online at Sephora or find these prouducts and other exclusive kits on their website.
So tell me, are you INN?
