As someone who works in the beauty industry, it comes as no surprise that I try a lot products. Each season there are a few products that really stand out. This Spring season five launches that caught my eye and they’re really good.
Fenty Skin Butta Drop – Ever since this was announced, I set my alarm to order this. One thing I was certain of was that Rihanna was going to deliver us the body glow we’ve been waiting for. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how lightly scented this body cream. It has a rich, creamy texture that melts into the skin like, you guessed it—butter. Skin feels hydrated all day with no greasy residue. I’m also a big fan of the sustainable packaging.
Summer Fridays Summer Skin – At this point, would you even believe I wrote this post if one of Summer Fridays products didn’t make it to the list. If you prefer a lotion instead of a body butter or cream, this is the body moisturizer for you. It’s lightweight yet extremely hydrating and leaves the skin feeling soft while leaving a radiant sheen to the skin that lasts all day. If you haven’t tried anything from this brand you might want to read some of my reviews here and here.
Tula Filter Primer Blurring & Moisturizing Primer– Full disclosure – I currently work for the brand. When it comes to makeup/skincare hybrids this one was done right. While this is not an entirely new product to the Tula line, this product now has 6 shades that correspond to skin tones so that it can be worn alone or under makeup. What I love the most about this product is the skin blurring “filter” effect that this has when applied to the skin. I’ve been wearing this only on bare skin in my most recent Instagram posts and stories and it really is blurring. I have yet to wear this under makeup, but right now i’m loving this as a quick way to look put together because you guessed it—zoom calls.
Colourpop Brow Wax – I should have bought 3 of these. Patrick Ta’s #MajorBrowWax walked so that Colourpop’s Brow Wax could run (for a third of the price). I absolutely love this brow wax. It’s easy to use, doesn’t leave a weird cast on your brow hairs and keeps your hairs in place ALL. DAY. LONG. I like to use this before applying any makeup, do my makeup and then come back to fill my brows with a pencil for perfect brows. On top of that, they launched the cutest brow brush for $3.
Fenty Beauty Bright Fix Eye Brightener Concealer – Did you binge watch new season of Who Killed Sara in the middle of the week causing you to only get three hours of sleep before your impromptu 8:30 meeting and your boss has required to you to turn on your camera? This eye brightener / concealer / corrector / skincare hybrid awesomeness is just what you need (and a strong cup of coffee) to look and feel alive. This is going to become the concealer of the summer. It’s extremely lightweight, pairs beautifully with any skin tint you use leaving a natural finish for that coveted no-makeup-makeup look.
