Good To The Last Drop – August Empties

It’s that time again. I’ve finished up a few products and I have to share my thoughts. A couple of these products have been featured in my monthly favorites posts and a few of them I’m just sharing my thoughts on them for the first time. I still can’t get over how many products I have gone through each month! It’s actually been very satisfying. Let’s just jump right into it, shall we?

Makeup

This is really a first for me. I can’t remember the last time I went through an entire brow pencil, much less two. I was surprised but also a little sad that I finished both of these brow pencils literally days apart. In my opinion these pencils are somewhat underrated and I’m here to tell you that they are worth the coin.

Urban Decay Brow Beater Microfine Brow Pencil – In my opinion this is one of the best fine pencils on the market. It’s not too soft but also not so hard that it feels scratchy on the skin. I will say that the shades of this pencil tend to run a little on the cooler side and while I prefer a warmer tone for my brows, because the pencil is so fine when I filled in my brows it actually worked out. I know Urban Decay is not really known for their brow products, but this one is definitely worth it.

Uoma Beauty Brow Fro Baby Hair – Another gem. I love how fine this pencil is and I especially like ti because the shade I use (05) is warm. You can draw realistic hairs with easy and it’s a firm pencil that is also soft.

Skincare

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow BHA + PHA Pore Tight Toner – First of all, has Glow Recipe been killing it lately, or is it just me? If you’ve been following the blog for a few months, you probably already know how I feel about this toner. I initially bought this during the Sephora Spring VIB event late April and after using it for a week, I had to buy a backup bottle. Just yesterday, I finally finished this toner and I could probably still get one more use, so when it comes to bang for your buck this toner is definitely worth the money in my opinion. I use this solely as my daytime toner and I’m in love with the serum/essence texture of this toner. It’s extremely hydrating and it really has helped to make my skin look and feel smoother. I highly recommend this product and if you read more about why I love this so much click here.

Hyper Skin Hyper Clear Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum – I also recently spoke about this serum in an earlier post as it was one of my July favorites. I started using this as part of my daytime skincare routine mid-June and finished this yesterday. I use this mainly as my spot treatment concealer. I found it to work specifically well on target areas where I had some discoloration. You don’t need to use a lot of it and it is potent. I did not experience any irritation even though it contains 15% Vitamin C. In my previous post, I had only been using it for about 3 weeks and it’s usually at week 4 when you see a treatment product like this one really show their true potential. I’m happy to say that this one really delivered. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a Vitamin C serum that also hydrates while helping any discoloration fade.

Farsali Privé Quench Moisture Replenishing Serum – This was actually a pleasant surprise. I bought my first bottle when this launched exclusively on the Farsali site. If I’m being honest I usually use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. I prefer my hyaluronic acid serums to be a little more on the tacky side and this one is it for me. I usually use this as my nighttime hyaluronic acid serum. Now, I’m no skincare expert but the I like the way that my nighttime moisturizer layers on top of this. I did repurchase this and intend to use as part of my nighttime skincare routine.

  1. […] If you suffer from post acne dark spots then I can confidently recommend this serum for you. Launched last year and now available at Sephora, not only does this serum contain vitamin C, but it is also formulated to hydrate with hyaluronic acid, soothe with aloe, while also exfoliating with kojic acid for an even and smooth complexion. See my thoughts on this serum here. […]
