May Favorites: Skin, Hair, Fashion & Well, That Was Unexpected

How is it already June? It’s amazing how quickly this year is flying by. While putting this post together, I noticed that for the first time in a long time that this monthly favorites post will not only include beauty but also some fashion favorites. For this month, there’s also one unexpected random product that is also something we can all use now.

Bolden Clear Skin Clay Mask – This has quickly become my favorite clay mask. I use this once week to detox my skin. I found that unlike most clay masks that I’ve used, this is great for gently cleansing my pores and gently resurfacing the skin. When it dries, my skin doesn’t feel as tight and actually leaves my skin feeling extremely smooth. is a great follow up masks to use in between my intense clay mask treatments. I have several products from this line and have been incorporating them one by one as I finish up products.

Puma Charlotte Olympia Sneakers – This was one of my first quarantine purchases. Truth be told, since quarantine I’ve probably worn these sneakers to my living room more than I’ve worn them outside. Even so, I absolutely love them. They’re like a “dad sneaker” but not. I’ve worn them with the most feminine of dresses or tomboy looks and I’ve been obsessed with every look. What really makes this sneaker are the tiny details that almost make you forget that you wearing a sneaker. The gold plate and the sequins give it a sporty-glam feel that if you know me is what I live for.

Nano Ionic Facial Steamer – My old steamer died. I almost died—okay, I was exaggerating but if you’re as obsessed with skincare as I am, you understand. I went without my steamer for about a month and my skin missed it. Also, I’ve been watching the glow getter duo of Face Flawless Skin and their Friday Facials series on Instagram Live (it’s on Friday’s at 4 p.m. EST) and love doing my skincare routine with them, hence why I needed to get a facial steamer.

IGK Offline 3 Minute Hydration Hair Mask – Okay, so this came out a while ago. I’ve featured a lot of styling products from IGK that I love to use on my wigs and extensions, but this is the first time that I am talking about a product that I use on my natural hair. This hair mask is AMAZING! It’s rich, creamy, has a lot of slip and most importantly leaves my hair feeling so soft. What’s even more amazing is that you literally can get the results instantly and the softness last from washday to washday. Dare I say, I’ve noticed that my breakage has been significantly reduced and my overall hair health has improved. I know it has to be this because this is the only thing that I have changed in my haircare routine. I have 4C texture and I don’t have to use a lot in order for me to see the results. My hair is fairly thick although I have fine strands and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. You don’t need a lot. I have been using this every week since the end of April on a weekly basis and each time I am truly surprised. I’m still on my first bottle, but believe I’ve already bought a second one so that I’m never without it.

Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray Dish Soap – I know, totally random. Let’s face it—most of us are working from home. We eat all of our meals at home, so there are going to be some dishes. If you’re like me and live in NYC, not every apartment comes with a dishwasher. I love to cook and it’s not so much that I hate the cleanup as much as it is I just wish it could be done with not so much effort. This dish spray from Dawn has been my go-to. I got on a random Target run and have been using this exclusively all month long. It cuts through grease like nobody’s business. It’s easy, you use less product and most importantly, it cuts down on the time you would have to spend washing your dishes. You literally spray it on your dishes, wipe with a wet sponge, rinse and you’re done. I know it might sound like you do the same with regular dish soap but I promise you it’s not.

So there you have it, my May Favorites. Have you tried any of these products and what are your thoughts? If I’m being honest, I really would like to know who else has tried the Dawn Dish Spray.
