Cleansing Balms – Your Skin Savior for the Winter

When it comes to makeup removal in the winter, cleansing balms have become my best friend. Cleansing balms use hydrating oils that not only breakdown your makeup on contact, but they also hydrate and nourish the skin. Lately, cleansing balms have been the first step to my double cleanse on a nightly basis. They break up even the most stubborn waterproof eye makeup and breakdown even budge-proof foundation. For years, I had been loyal to the cult classic Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. It is still a staple, however I’ve discovered two new cleansing balms that are just as effective and are at a loyal price point. This cleansing balm hydrates with green coconut and purifies with charcoal. It breaks up makeup on contact and the very little is needed with this balm-to-oil formula. SheaMoisture has been making great strides in the skincare category and this product is no exception. It also comes at a very affordable price point of $11.

I don’t anyone who doesn’t know someone who uses Pond’s. Whether it is your mother, your aunt or your grandmother you’ve seen that jar of cold cream somewhere. Let’s be honest, our mothers and grandmothers were on to something. Cold cream was the secret to their soft to the touch facial skin.  When I saw that Pond’s launched a cold cream cleansing balm, I had to try it – if only out of pure nostalgia. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this worked. It moisturized the skin and my skin felt baby soft even after my second cleanse with my favorite moisturizer. This cleansing balm is also at a reasonable price point, retailing for $10.

Please note that when using a cleansing balm, you do not necessarily have to do a second cleanse. I have noticed that by using a cleansing balm as the first step in my nighttime skincare routine, my skin remains hydrated overnight and my skin has a healthy glow that can withstand the harsh winter weather. Have you tried cleansing balms? What are your favorites? Are their other winter skincare favorites that you’ve been incorporating into your winter skincare routine? Leave a comment below. Until next time, always remember to SEE. TOUCH. TASTE.

The Juno & Co. Clean 10 Cleansing balm is an effective cleansing balm that breaks down makeup and sunscreen and rinses off without any residue or leaving the skin feeling dehydrated.
