5 Lip Colors that You’ll Be Wearing This Fall

Yes, the fall is here and if you like to switch up your makeup look for the season the easiest way to do it is with a striking lip. These cooler months make us reach for warm browns, deep reds and rich berries. Below is a list 5 lip colors ranging from gloss to matte that will take you from summer to fall with usually just one swipe on the lips.

Shiseido ModernMatte in Exotic Red

Everyone needs a good matte red. As far back as I can remember, my go to red lipstick was the legendary MAC Ruby Woo and if that wasn’t available I’d settle for Russian Red. They were comfortable matte options that would last. Since the relaunch of Shiseido makeup, I’ve really been into this red as my new go to red. It’s a matte finish that goes on like a creamy powder and cushions the lips rather than drying them out.

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Unveil

Admit it, we were all wondering when Rihanna would drop additional shades of STUNNA Lip Paint. As only Rihanna could do, she launched four shades in one week. Unveil was the first of the four shades launched and when I saw the social media post for this universal chocolate hue, I was sold. Like Uncensored, you still have to take your time when applying this. It is probably the most pigmented chocolate brown that I have ever tried in a matte liquid lipstick formula. Worn alone it doesn’t make my lips look muddy (as can be the case when I am wearing a shade that is a dead on match to my skin tone). When worn alone This is good for those days when I’m going for a minimalist or monochromatic look. I tried it with Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow and in Diamond Milk and they both look great.

Nars PowerMatte Lip Luster in Combat

This literally is the best of three worlds. That’s right not both worlds, but three worlds. This is a liquid matte formula, with luster (not metallic) and intense color payoff. What?!?! How?!?! I actually bought two shades from this limited collection. While it was hard to choose, This shade was my favorite. Nars describes this as shimmering blackberry but on me it reads more like a deep plum shade.

Bite French Press Lip Gloss in French Press

There are full glosses and then there are GLOSSES. This is the latter. This coffee inspired collection definitely holds up to Bite Beauty’s high standards for delivering quality lip products. I especially like the shade French Press as it is the perfect nude for darker skin tones. It’s extremely moisturizing and has great color payoff without being sticky. This is definitely going to my go to gloss for the Fall.

Flesh Strong Flesh Lipstick in Siren

Eggplant. That’s how this shade reads on me. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. It’s a bold color and the formula of this standard bullet lipstick is amazing. It glides on smoothly and the color payoff is just amazing and I’m not just saying that. This is my first product from the Ulta exclusive line from Revlon and I’m sold at least on these lipsticks.

So there it is? Are these shades that you will be wearing this season? If so, comment below. Until next time.
