Three New Products from Cult Favorite Brand The Ordinary

Remember when The Ordinary was just a small brand with retinol being their main focus? Well look at them now. Despite the shipping and out of stock issues (which seem to be diminishing) their line has expanded with so many hydrators, oils and a decent foundation line.

They’ve recently launched three products that will be great additions to your beauty cabinet. The three products are the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder, Marine Hyaluronics and AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. All there of these products can aid with achieving brighter, smoother and hydrated skin. Here’s a breakdown of what each of these products offers by way of skin benefits.

100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder

This is definitely not a new type of product. About a decade ago, I was obsessed with Philosophy Turbo Booster C Powder. Mixed in with other treatments or serums it was a great skin brightener worked well, but there was the issue of pricing. At $39 it was kind of a splurge especially for the quantity. That aside, The Ordinary version of this booster is 100% L-Ascorbic Acid so you can basically mix it with whatever serum you have on hand. As with all brightening serums and just for good skincare in general, always apply sunscreen when using this as part of your daytime skin regimen.

Marine Hyaluronics

Any product that claims to retain moisture is already a win in a my book. What I learned about this product is that like hyaluronic acid but is lighter in texture and feel. This could  be a great hydrating product especially during the summer months when you want to keep your skin hydrated but don’t want to use a product that is heavy. I haven’t tried it yet, but I plan to (just as soon as I finish up my current bottle of Hyaluronic Acid also but he brand). Check back later for my full review.

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

This is the mother load of all acids. I’ve been an avid user of glycolic acid since it was first introduced to me by Felicia Walker Benson of This That Beauty. I was going through a period where I was suffering from hormonal acne which left scarring and some discoloration. At that time Mario Badescu’s Glycolid Acid was my jam. I used it everyday and it really worked. It just took some time. When the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution was introduced, I was a little scared due to the high concentration of AHAs in this formula. It seemed intense and although I don’t have highly sensitive skin, I was afraid that it might be a little much. Much to my surprise, this product really does what it says. After using it for only two weeks, my skin’s texture was definitely smoother and I did not suffer any reaction. What is key is that you follow the directions to a tee. This is a very potent formula (so expect some tingling). To find out more about this product, click here.

The Ordinary is definitely changing the way we think about spending for skincare products and with almost every launch they have surprised the beauty industry.
