A Rose by Any Other Name

I love a good face oil. For those of you who have oily skin *raises hand* you needn’t be scared of face oils. It won’t increase your oil production and quite frankly can aid in achieving that healthy glow that gives you that youthful appearance. After all, not all of us want to be matte all the time.

Over the past two months, the weather hear in the northeast has been especially brutal. Three days ago NYC temperatures reached 60 degrees, but the following day we had a blizzard. On bitter cold days you will find yourself cranking up the heat in your home but little do you know that you’re actually drying out your skin. A face oil as part as your skincare routine can prove to be helpful. Rose oil contains many properties that will help nurture your skin.

  • Anti-Inflammatory agent
  • Moisturizes
  • Preps skin for other cosmetic/skincare products
  • Can be used on all skin types
  • Reduces redness and calms skin

You see why it’s so great and a must-have? Lately I’ve been crushing on two products that contain rose oil – Korres Wild Rose  Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil and Sonoma Naturals Rose Hip Seed Oil, Antioxidant Facial Serum.

The Korres Wild Rose  Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil is my absolute favorite. It is extremely light, rich in omega 3, 6, 9 fatty acids and vitamins A and C. Vitamin A aids in smoothing fine lines and wrinkles while Vitamin C brightens. It absorbs easily into the skin delivering a fresh and youthful glow. I should also mention that there are actual rose petals in this formula.

I stumbled upon the Sonoma Naturals Rose Hip Seed Oil, Antioxidant Facial Serum while browsing Marshall’s beauty section. This oil has a thicker consistency and I use it mostly at night to help seal my nighttime moisturizer. I wake up to find smoother skin that is totally hydrated. If you prefer a slightly thicker consistency, then this is the oil for you. If you’re not close to a Marshall’s, I found a place online where you can order it because that’s just how I roll. Click here to shop.

Have you used rose oils or any other facial oils that really work for you. Comment below. Until next time, always remember to SEE. TOUCH. TASTE.
