Happy Holidays! It’s about that time for my bi-weekly, semi-monthly, bi-monthly – you know what – I don’t even know anymore. In any case, here is the newest post to the About Face section of the blog. A few weeks back, I shared my winter skincare regimen with you. Among the products I used, I introduced a new product into my routine – Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu Power C x 30™ Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Mask. It was my first time using it, so I couldn’t legitimately give it my seal of approval. It has now been two weeks – I’ve used it four times so now I think it’s time to let you know how I feel about it. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this instance I am going to use a gif to explain my feelings:
Now let’s be clear, I read all the reviews, read and re-read the article on Refinery29. Truth be told, I did expect to see results but not within two weeks. In addition to the visible brightening properties (check out my latest Instagram selfies) the thing that I was most impressed with is that drastically improved the texture of my skin. I don’t know a girl in the world who doesn’t want that. Now let’s talk about what’s in this bottle of magic that makes it sooooo amazing.
- It has camu camu. I know most of you are like “what the hell is camu-camu?” That’s exactly what I said. So I did a little research. This is what a camu camu berry looks like. The camu camu berry is a tropical fruit that has grows in Peru and Brazil and has 60x more vitamin C than an orange. We all know about the brightening effects of vitamin C so this is like – wow – just – WOW! This is what a camu camu berry looks like.
- It’s a second layer of moisture. It’s a pretty rich cream so it nourish your skin throughout the night. Now this is especially good during the winter months. You layer this over your night cream and in the morning your skin is as smooth as a baby’s bottom – NO LIE!
- It contains Sodium hyaluronate – the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, and we all know what hyaluronic acid does – it keeps you looking younger it’s in practically everything these days from your face cream to your haircare. Since our natural levels of hyaluronic acid diminish a we get older this is a way to get some of that back. Don’t you just love it!
I absolutely love this mask, however, I’ll be honest – it’s kind of a hefty price tag ($62) considering by itself it is not a night cream so you would have to have an additional night cream and use this over it 2x a week. But, the results are the closest thing you will get to an overnight miracle. So if you’re someone who needs instant gratification and doesn’t mind paying $62 – I say go for it. After using this overnight and following your morning skincare routine you’ll be all in your mirror like:
