Winter Skincare – Daytime Skincare Regimen

So, I’ve been thinking long and hard about this post. Last year (roughly around the same time), I shared some of my winter skincare favorites which included oil cleansers, hydrating moisturizers and the gentle toners. Being the beauty junkie that I am, it’s once again that time of year where I’m revising and upgrading my skincare routine. There are some mainstays but I’ve also added a few other products that I was introduced to recently.

I’ve basically broken it down what I’ll be using this season for my daytime and nighttime skincare regimen. This post will be dedicated to my daytime regimen.

The Products

Glamglow Supercleanse™ Daily Clearing Cleanser or Glamglow Youthcleanse™ Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clinical Concentrate Boosters™

Caolin Premium Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo

Murad Invisiblur™ Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30

For the day, my Glamglow cleansers are my go-to cleansers whether I’m looking for a deep clean or double-duty (cleanse and exfoliate) cleanser. These two cleansers are basically my ride or die cleansers. Like I’d probably die if I ran out of them. That may be an over-exaggeration, but you get where I’m coming from. Glamglow Supercleanse™ Daily Clearing Cleanser was the first Glamglow cleanser I tried. It not only improved my skintone, but provides a gentle deep clean allowing the other products that I use as part of my regimen to be more effective. When I’m in a bit of a rush and feel the need to exfoliate I reach for Glamglow Youthcleanse™ Daily Exfoliating Cleanser. It gently buffs and brightens my skin leaving it soft to the touch.

On a bi-weekly basis (and usually on the days that I use the Supercleanse cleanser) I also follow up with a deep pore clean. I’ve recently discovered and fell in love with Caolin Premium Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo. It’s like a steam facial in a jar. I did a post about it a while back and I might as well use this post to let you know how I feel about it. I love it! I think it’s one of the best pore cleansers out there! The steaming and tightening properties of this duo delivers as it promises. If you’re not using this and you have pore issues, you should definitely put this on your list.

Next up is First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. I’ve used a few First Aid Beauty products in the past, but this one is one of my favorites. First of all it’s a gentle toner in a pad. Secondly, its formulated in a way that the formula seeps almost immediately into the skin to reveal a subtle glow. I was kind of amazed that although it was absorbed quickly into the skin, it wasn’t drying (definitely a win when the weather can be harsh on your skin). What’s more is that it also contains one of my favorite skincare ingredients – glycolic acid. I won’t even get into how much that excites me because if you’ve been reading *in my Big Frieda voice* YOU ALREADY KNOW!

Right after the that I usually follow up with Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clinical Concentrate Boosters™. Being that the winter months require intense hydration, I use the hydration booster. It’s light and like the rest of my skincare regimen, it seeps right into the skin. A few drops pressed into the skin is all that you need.

Now we’ve heard time and time again that the first signs of aging can be seen right around the eyes. Let me tell you – DON’T I KNOW IT! Thanks goodness for eye cream. During the day I use Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream. It combats puffiness and reduces the appearance of dark circles. It’s also remarkably refreshing (perfect for Monday mornings).

To round out my routine, I go for Murad Invisiblur™ Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 aka The Trifecta. It’s a light moisturizer with SPF protection and the best part – it visibly reduces the look of your blemishes. I love using this because in the event that I’m running late I can feel confident leaving the house without a stitch of makeup on (I handle that part once I get to the office though).

Check back next week when I will be sharing my Winter Nighttime Skincare routine. If you have any personal daytime skincare favorites you’d like to share leave them in the comment section below. Stay beautiful!
