About Face: Korean Beauty Masks

Screen Shot 2015-11-03 at 8.41.55 PMLately, Korean beauty regimens have been all the rave. I admit I was curious, but strayed from going out there and trying this new beauty trend because mainly – I’m not Korean. However, after doing some research on the skincare benefits of some of these regimens I was able to select products that would could be beneficial to my skin type.

About a month ago, I paid a visit to Club Clio – a Korean skincare and cosmetics boutique located in Union Square, NYC. I came across a kiosk that housed like a million sheet masks. I asked like a million questions and after about 15 minutes, I chose three masks that I felt would work with my skin type.

Now, I’m really a clay/charcoal mask kind of girl because I’m obsessed with my pores, but with the winter months approaching and with my limited knowledge of how my skin reacts during these months, I realized that what I needed was intense hydration. I won’t rave about all of the benefits that a sheet mask provides because I’ve actually used one once. Last night I tried the Honey & Collagen sheet mask and I have to say it did leave my skin feeling supple and after applying my night cream I did have a bit of a glow. It’s too early to see how this will pan out, however, I will try to incorporate this into my nighttime skincare routine. I’m going to try to do it at least twice a week and see how this goes.
