About Face: Best Skin Soothers

As the seasons change so does your skincare routine. This is not a new concept and almost every beauty expert, dermatologist, beauty blogger preaches the same thing during this time of year. Still, there are some tried and true products that every woman serious about her skin should have in her arsenal. There are times when even the most skincare conscientious of us screws up and are skin needs a little extra TLC. I am currently having one of those moments. Over the pat few weeks I might have overdosed on my glycolic acid usage. It might have not been just the glycolic acid usage, but when combined with masking three times a week it can be a little harsh on the skin. During the Fall/Winter months it’s no secret that you really have to make sure that your face is hydrated and moisturized to combat the elements.

My go to product: Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream. This stuff is legendary. This famous multi-use cream serves as a skin protectant, cuticle conditioner, eyebrow smoother, etc. Let me also say this is like an overnight cream miracle. The next morning you wake up with skin so soft it’s like a baby’s butt. Some may complain about the smell (it’s a little medicinal), but it’s so worth it to me. You can apply this after your daily moisturizer to create an additional barrier against harsh winds and let’s face it – even us gals with oily or combination skin need a little shine during the colder months. One tube of this stuff is guaranteed to last through the Fall/Winter season because a little goes a long way.
