Clean Sweep

Okay so it’s day whatever of fashion week and every beauty junkie I know is swooning over the makeup looks that we’ve been seeing on the runway – I am no exception. At the end of each day, I’ve been glued to my screen observing each makeup look, pinning the ones I want to try (and I’m not waiting until the Spring season to try them). By the time I’m done, it’s sometimes well past midnight. As any self-respecting beauty junkie knows at the end of the day it all boils down to the tools that you use in order to achieve the look. Sometimes at the end of a long day, you just don’t have the energy to pull out your brush shampoo and begin soaking and washing your brushes – I mean suppose they’re not completely dry by the morning? Then you have this wet brush that doesn’t apply your products correctly and that awesome runway inspired look you were going for is now an epic fail. The agony!

Well ladies, the makeup gods have answered. A while back I purchased the SEPHORA COLLECTION Daily Brush Cleaner. I had purchased it before, but since then this product has been reformulated. The original product was more like an astringent, so your brushes were still a little wet after cleaning. When you’re in a rush trying to get to work/school/etc. waiting for your brush to be completely dry can really add time and when you’re already late – AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! I mean, I have gone as far as pulling out my hair dryer to speed up the drying phase and while that has worked, I then have to reshape my brushes which once again – ADDS MORE TIME! So today, I pulled out the SEPHORA COLLECTION Daily Brush Cleaner and gave it a go!

First, I was surprised to find that unlike the previous formula, this cleaner was an oil as supposed to a water based cleanser. With just a few spritzes, I was able to cleanse each brush in record time and the best part – NO ADDITIONAL DRYING TIME! (insert happy dance). Truth be told, I hadn’t cleaned my brushes for about three days – I’ve been busy (don’t judge me). The process was simple. Spritz each brush a few times, and sweep away any product on a clean paper towel. Each brush took about 30 seconds. I bought the small bottle and used about half of it. Yeah, that seems like you have to use a lot of product to get it clean, but you don’t. As I just mentioned, I hadn’t cleaned my brushes in about three days. I cleaned 17 brushes and two makeup sponges in all of 15 minutes – BOOM! The product literally slid right off the fibers and was ready for use within 15 seconds. Again – BOOM!

The best part is that it’s inexpensive and a necessity for every makeup wearer whether or not you’re a beauty junkie. This cleanser is available in a travel size – you know for those times when you need to switch your make up look and your only carrying a couple of brushes.
