TBT Beauty: Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette -

You know how sometimes you just have to go back to where it all started right the wrongs. That’s what happened to me this week while on my weekly visit to Sephora. About fifteen years ago, I discovered Make Up For Ever’s Camouflage Cream Palette at the Soho location. I was so new to make up and liked that I was getting five concealers that I could use to target different areas on my face. They were also the only beauty brand who seemed to understand brown skin. It was the first color correcting palette that I had seen that was not sold exclusively to make up artists. Because it’s a cream concealer with buildable coverage it is a dream to use. I’ve been looking all over for an orange based concealer that would effectively cover a few blemishes that I have and couldn’t find anything that would achieve that flawless look. I totally forgot how great this palette was and at $40 it’s really a bargain. Think about it, you’re getting 5 concealers for less than the price of two of the leading concealers out there. It felt like I won the concealer lottery.

My problem area is my chin and jaw line. I have really dark blemishes there and the orange concealer (the last one in the palette) was perfect. I applied it under my foundation and it was virtually undetectable. The lighter shades (the first and the third from the left) are perfect for concealing the under eye area. I would recommend using an under eye primer before applying to avoid creasing, and finish with a setting powder. The other colors can be used to lightly conceal areas on the face if you tend to have red or chocolate undertones. What did I tell you, it’s perfect for brown girls and it’ll last for a long time.
