This week I sifted through my beauty products and came across an oldie but goodie – Mario Badescu Silver Powder. About a year ago I became obsessed with Mario Badescu products. I had used the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion prior to that, and it was very effective and the price point can fit within any budget. When I started to notice that I was developing hyperpigmentation, I tried to find a solution to remedy the problem. I was introduced to the Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner and Mario Badescu Glycolic Gel while chatting online with one of my favorite beauty bloggers, Felicia Walker Benson of This That Beauty. For three straight months I followed a strict skincare regimen that included these two products and noticed that my skin was brighter and my dark spots and blemishes were fading. Then I started slacking – I think it was because something new came out and I switched to try those products. Don’t ask me what products they were because I would be lying if I told you that I remember. Soon after that I became really lax with my skincare regimen – especially my nighttime routine. That phase is over now, so I’m back to taking really good care of my skin.
Let’s get back to the Mario Badescu Silver Powder. Here’s what it claims to do:
- Remedy blackheads
- Unclog pores
- Remedy excessive t-zone oiliness
On clean skin, apply the powder with a damp cotton ball or round to your entire face and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then using a toner and a cotton round to remove the powder. You need only a thin layer of product so this jar will last a while when used twice a week. I prefer to use this as night because I find that my nighttime moisturizer absorbs better into my skin. The next morning, I find my face looks a lot smoother.
Here are all the products I use in my nighttime skincare routine:
Moisturize: Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins
Bi-Weekly after Cleansing: Mario Badescu Silver Powder
Bi-Weekly before moisturizing: Mario Badescu Glycolic Gel
As needed: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
