Making Up For Lost Time
During the year we’re always on the go. As women, we’re managing our professional and personal lives and sometimes the lives of others and sometimes forget that we need to pamper ourselves. Fortunately for some of us, the only time we actually get time off is during the holiday season. It’s the one time where we really want to look glamorous yet comfortable. So now that you have the outfits, it’s time to get your makeup holiday look together. Here are three makeup looks borrowed from the stars that will pair perfectly with the three holiday fashion looks that were mentioned above.

I don’t know about you, but during this time of year this is when I’m most likely to make a statement purchase for myself. This year, I think it will be a vinyl player. It might have something to do with the Banks Goddess vinyl that I got this summer that has sparked my interest in getting more vinyls. It takes me back to my childhood. What I like about these record players is that you can also hook them up to a microphone and essentially have karaoke. I love that.
Urban Outfitters //Jensen J3-Speed Radio Cassette CD Vinyl Record Player// //Crosley Dansette Bermuda USB Vinyl Record Player// Light in the Box //K-Mic Pc-058 Classical Condenser Microphone//
The karaoke idea came after I saw this Gap commercial called The Crooner. I found it to be so charming and full of holiday cheer. I have a younger cousin and this is something that I could totally see him doing.
What to Watch
We all love holiday movies – okay, at least I do. I love the movies tell stories of friends and family connecting over the holidays and movies that portray people who are inherently good. They make you laugh, cry (in a good way) and remember those things that are truly important in life. While the holidays are the backdrop for these movies it is the story and characters that have made these movies holiday classics. Getting Into the Holiday Spirit
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending a Johnnie Walker tasting event at their House of Walker® pop-up in NYC. Of all the spirits, scotch is by far the one that resonates with the holidays. Needless to say, I have a broader appreciation for the time and work that it takes to create this spirit and the history behind it.
I had the pleasure of tasting four of their most popular spirits – Johnnie Walker® Blue Label ™, Johnnie Walker® Red Label ™, Johnnie Walker® Black Label™ and Johnnie Walker® Double Black ™. After the presentation I was able to taste some of their specialty cocktails, and two of them became my instant favorites.
The first one is called the Johnnie Walker® Old Fashioned. Unlike other old-fashioned the smokiness of the Johnnie Walker® Black ™ and the citrus twist of orange and lemon elevated your sense of taste and smell that were subtle reminders of the holidays.
Johnnie Walker® Old Fashioned
- Johnnie Walker® Black Label™ Scotch
- Angostura Bitters
- Sugar Cube
- Lemon Twist
- Orange Twist
The second cocktail that I tried was called Walker Warmer. I imagine having this with dessert after Christmas dinner. Using Johnnie Walker® Red Label ™ as the base of this cocktail and then infusing it with coffee liqueur and sherry, it is the perfect compliment to a holiday cake while catching up with friends and family.
Johnnie Walker® Walker Warmer
- Johnnie Walker® Red Label™ Scotch
- Lustau’s East India Sherry
- Braulio Amaro
- Coffee Liqueur
- Aromatic Bitters

As always, remember to SEE. TOUCH. TASTE.
