Weekly Roundup

Yes, the weekend is here and it’s a long one. It’s somewhat bittersweet as it also marks the official unofficial end of summer, but ushers in the Pre-Fall fashion season (my favorite 3-week fashion season of the year). Let’s not forget, it also marks the end of pre-season football – let the games begin.  Well now it’s time for me to round out the week, so let’s jump right into it.

This week Joe Fresh introduced the Sophia Bush Collection. The collection can be described as effortless cool.  These are my favorites from the collection.

The Staple: The Silk Shirt – $59

3A

The Neutral: Suede Pump – $99

1A

Wear to Work: The Slim Midi Dress – $39

3A-1

Tomboy Chic: Ultra Slim Rip & Repair Jean – $69

3A-2

These key items will surely take you right through the Fall and with online shopping now available in the US, you can get these moderately priced styles even if there isn’t a Joe Fresh store in your area. Click here to be taken to the Joe Fresh site.

Next up is the beauty product that I am in love with.  For decades Mario Badescu has been a staple in the beauty industry.  Known for their simple packaging effectiveness of their products, I don’t know of a single beauty junkie who doesn’t own one of the products in their line.  As a sufferer of hyper pigmentation, I am always on the hunt for a product that will even out my skin tone allowing me to go out virtually makeup free.  Cue in Mario Badescu’s Glycolic Gel.  This gel is kind of like a less harsh chemical peel.  Over time, you will notice your dark marks get noticeably lighter and your skin will feel so much smoother.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Gel – $25

Next on my weekly roundup music. Now while this isn’t a new track, it is by a band that you should definitely be keeping an eye out for.  I’ve seen them perform live a couple of times and this is probably my favorite track on the album.  The band – BOROKO. The song – The Expressionists. Watch and listen, and if you happen to be in the NYC area in September, you should see them live at Rockwood Music Hall on September 12. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Now I’d hate to keep you from getting to your long weekend – spending time with family and friends and at the last barbecue of the Summer.  Speaking of barbecues and grills, you know I couldn’t leave you without sharing one of the dishes that I had the pleasure of making with my sister. In case you missed last weeks post, I’m a huge bacon lover, like I put bacon in everything.  When I cam across a recipe grilled scallion stuffed bacon wrapped peaches in Food & Wine magazine, I just had to try it. I don’t know whether to classify this as a main dish, a side dish, or a dessert, but needless to say, it was AMAZING! You might want to try this recipe out on the grill this weekend.
