Those of us who have heard of Kinder Aggulini know that he has collaborated over the past few years with the likes of John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Calvin Klein. Aggulini has also has his own collection since Fall 2008 and it can be viewed at www.aggugini.com. He has a unique way of mixing tailored looks with a punk edge. While virtually unknown to us in the United States (his line is sold in very few stores in New York and Chicago) he will reach a broader US audience when his line launches February 2011. He will also be the first designer for Macy’s to create an affordable runway collection. This is no doubt a win-win situation. The collection will feature runway style clothing ranging $40-$140, maxing out at about $300, the line will feature jackets, knitwear, dresses and shorts. The various items will include tailored leather and boucle jackets, soft cardigans, ultra feminine silk shorts and Kimono-style dresses. I was able to find a few published sketches and they look fabulous definitely pieces that the impulse Macy’s shopper will want to have in her closet.
